If you purchased your domain somewhere other than your hosting provider this guide is for you. I have created a simple easy to follow guide to show you how to point your domain to your hosting account.
I used NameCheap for my domain and SiteGround host, therefore, this guide will show examples from these two providers. But the steps should be very similar to your domain account and your hosting account

How To Point Your NameCheap Domain To SiteGround
Once you purchased your domain name on NameCheap, head over to your dashboard.
Once you are in your domains dashboard. Locate the domain you just purchased, and click manage on the right-hand side. This will bring you to a new screen.
On the new screen scroll down till you see nameservers. Click on the drop-down menu and choose Custom DNS. This is where you are going to place your name server information.
Head over to your SiteGround dashboard and launch your cPanel.
Once you are in your cPanel, locate your account information. It should be at the top on the left-hand side. You will see a little box with your name server information. Copy and paste the ns1 information into the box over on NameCheap. Do the same for ns2.
That’s it! You have now pointed your domain to your hosting account! Simple right?
